The other day Paul was doing some heavy work in the garden area. It really wasn’t something I could help him with.
But I could bring him water to drink and visit a little while he worked (I even pulled a few weeds).
I don’t think we said anything truly important, but we connected and shared a bit of time together.
If you are concerned about drift in your marriage, look for opportunities to connect in little ways. Be helpful. Smile. Share something you read or something that happened in your day.
Just as you can drift apart by small movements away from each other, you can turn the tide and make small movements toward each other.
