Indian chess grandmaster and former world chess champion Viswanathan Anand played a ‘Checkmate Covid’ match against the country’s top celebrity Amir Khan to raise funds for the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s COVID-19 relief efforts. However, Amir Khan couldn’t complete the match and quit ten minutes before his slot ended.
“Dil chota mat kar, international level champion se hara hai” said Vishwanathan Anand after defeating Amir Khan.
In post match conference, perfectionist Amir Khan told how he was serious about the match as he would be for movies. Amir Khan told that he had been doing various finger exercise for the chess match against the ex-champion Viswanathan Anand. Amir Khan was hugely appreciated by chess and Bollywood enthusiasts for his method acting.
