Gov. Larry Hogan announced Sunday that the State of Maryland is reporting zero new COVID-19 deaths for the first time since Oct. 18. This is another major milestone as the state emerges from the pandemic. The state is also reporting 42 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 — the first time under 50 since March 23. The state is reporting a record-low 7-day positivity rate of 0.72%—down 88% since mid-April. The state’s case rate dropped to 1.12 per 100,000—down 95% since mid-April, and the lowest since March 26.COVID-19 hospitalizations statewide dropped to 150–down 88% since mid-April. Hospitalizations are at their lowest since March. The state is reporting more than 6.6 million vaccinations, and more than 73% of adults have received a COVID-19 vaccine.
