Preparations on track to stave off third wave: West Central Railway | Bhopal News

BHOPAL: In order to provide better and timely medical facilities to fight against the possible third wave of Covid, West Central Railway (WCR) has made several arrangements. Officials said that WCR has instructed them to face any emergency, if a third wave hits the region.
Notably, WCR has always played an important role in providing better medical facilities to deal with emergency situations.
Officials said oxygen cylinders, essential medicines related to Covid like injection (Remdesivir), tablets (Azithromycin, Favipir), PPE kit, N95 mask, oxygen concentrator and others have been made available with proper quantity.
Keeping in view the possible third wave of Covid-19, 8 beds for children in the paediatric ward in Central Hospital Jabalpur and Divisional Hospital Kota and 6 beds in divisional hospital Bhopal have been made available. Therefore, 22 beds for children in WCR have been ensured, said officials. Apart from this, these beds can also be increased if needed, added officials. Along with this, changes have also been made in the module of the ventilator to be used by children for the treatment of infant patients.
Appropriate arrangements have been made for face masks, suitable medicines and portable oxygen cylinders for oxygenation of children, claimed officials.
Besides, special paediatric doctors are posted in Central Hospital of WCR, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Kota and Gangapur City. Apart from this, referral hospitals like Jagdish Children’s Hospital, Star Hospital Jabalpur have been linked by PMR to Central Hospital Jabalpur.
“Children will also be treated in Swastik Multi Specialty Hospital, which is already related to Central Hospital Jabalpur. In this way, a total of 35 private hospitals in West Central Railway have been connected under referral,” said the officials.
Officials also claimed that the oxygen plants are being set up at Central Hospital Jabalpur, Divisional Hospital Bhopal and Divisional Hospital Kota of West Central Railway so that medical oxygen can be supplied to patients in the third wave of Covid-19 infection and prove to be useful in saving their lives.
