Change Your Family Tree – The Generous Wife

A friend and I were talking about having divorce as a dynamic in our family tree (I was divorced early on in my life as well). It’s left a path of destruction through many lives.

Eventually, we got around to talking about God and how good He is to help us forge a new path for our marriages and hopefully influence future generations to hang in there and work for their marriages too.

The concept has stuck in my head.

No matter what messes and sins rattle around in my family tree (or what messes I have made in the past), God is big enough to help me walk a different path. The new healthier choices bring healing instead of harm and give others a model of what can be for them.

I’m encouraged to work for a healthy marriage and be rather tenacious about it.

Hang in there, y’all. By working to build a happier marriage you are not only changing your world, but you are also influencing future generations.

The future belongs to those who give the next generation reason for hope.
