Rahul, on the other hand, has carried forward his supreme form as the batsman scored yet another half-century. After the interval both Kohli and Rahul continued from where they left and have added a healthy partnership for the third-wicket. Kohli, who was dismissed on a golden duck in the first Test, has so far maintained a confident approach and has added 65 runs for the third wicket along with Rahul. India are batting on 215/2 at the moment.
After a delayed start, England won the toss and invited India to bat first in the second Test at Lord’s on Thursday. Ishant Sharma comes in the playing XI for India in place of injured Shardul Thakur.
While England, on the other hand, have made three changes as Haseeb Hameed comes in for Zak Crawley, Mark Wood replaces injured Sturar Broad, and Moeen Ali is roped in for Lawrence.
After a delay due to rain, the match started with Rohit and Rahul leading the proceedings for India and veteran pacer James Anderson started the attack for the hosts.
The Indian opening pair started on a cautious note and added just 11 on the scoreboard after the first ten overs. The pair then started to play freely and fetched runs quickly as compared to the first ten overs.
